1. What we collect

We only collect what we need. That may include the following.

  • Newsletter and free guide signups: your email address, and your first name and state if you choose to give them.

  • Trade enquiries: your name, business name, business type, state, email address and anything you tell us in your message.

  • Orders: your name, delivery address, email, phone number and what you bought.

  • Card payments are processed by Stripe, and PayPal payments by PayPal. We don't see or store your full card number.

  • Contact forms and live chat: your name, email address and the content of your message.

  • Website use: information sent by your browser and gathered by cookies and similar technology. This can include:

  • pages viewed, how you arrived and the links you click

  • device and browser type

  • approximate location, based on your IP address

You can browse our site without giving us your name. If you don't give us the information we ask for, we may not be able to send you a guide, reply to you or fill an order.

We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 16.

2. How we collect it

We collect information:

  • directly from you, when you fill in a form, sign up, buy something, email us or use chat

  • automatically, through cookies and analytics tools when you use our site (see section 6).

3. Why we use it

We use your personal information to:

  • send you the free guide or emails you asked for

  • reply to your enquiries and provide trade quotes

  • process, deliver and support your orders

  • improve our website and articles, using combined, non-identifying usage data where we can

  • meet our legal obligations, such as tax and consumer law records.

We will only use your information for another purpose if you agree, or if the Privacy Act allows it.

4. Marketing emails and your consent (Spam Act 2003)

  • We only send marketing emails if you have agreed to receive them. For example, you might tick the consent box on one of our signup forms. We never use pre-ticked boxes.

  • Our emails may include tips, our own products, and occasional offers from selected partners. The emails always come from us. We never give your email address to those partners.

  • Every email identifies us as Pet Parking (G.D. Huxtable Pty Ltd) and includes our contact details.

  • Every email has an unsubscribe link. Unsubscribing takes one click, with no login and no fee. We act on unsubscribe requests within 5 working days.

  • You can also unsubscribe by emailing info@petparking.com.au.

  • We keep a record of when and how you gave consent.

5. Who we share it with

We don't sell, rent or trade your personal information.

We share it only with service providers that help us run the business, and only as much as they need. These are:

  • Wix.com hosts our website, online shop, forms, contact list, live chat and email marketing. Wix stores and processes this information for us.

  • Stripe and PayPal process card and PayPal payments made through our Wix checkout. We don't see or store your full card number.

  • Australia Post (including Express Post) receives your name, delivery address and, where needed, phone number and email so it can deliver your order and send tracking updates. For international orders, Australia Post passes these details to the delivery service in the destination country.

  • Google provides Google Analytics 4 and Google Tag Manager (see section 6).

We may also disclose information if the law requires it, or to protect our rights or someone's safety.

Overseas disclosure

Some of these providers store or process information outside Australia. Wix is based in Israel and uses data centres in countries including the United States and Europe. Google, Stripe and PayPal store data in the United States and other countries. We choose established providers that have their own privacy and security commitments, but overseas laws may not protect your information in the same way as Australian law.

6. Cookies, analytics and affiliate links

  • Cookies. Our site uses cookies that Wix needs to run the site and shop, such as keeping items in your cart.

  • Google Analytics 4 (GA4). We use GA4, through Google Tag Manager, to understand how people use our site, such as which articles are popular. GA4 uses cookies and collects usage data like pages viewed, device type and approximate location.

  • We use it to look at combined statistics, not to identify you.

  • You can block analytics cookies in your browser settings, or use Google's opt-out add-on at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout.

  • Affiliate links. Some links on our site and in our emails are affiliate links. If you click one and buy something, we may earn a commission at no extra cost to you.

  • When you click, the retailer or the affiliate network may set its own cookies to track the sale. Examples include Commission Factory and partner retailers such as Pet Circle.

  • Their use of your information is covered by their own privacy policies.

  • We don't give them your name or email address.

  • Links to other websites. We aren't responsible for the privacy practices of sites we link to.

You can delete or block cookies in your browser. Some parts of the site, such as the cart, may not work properly without them.

7. How we keep it safe and how long we keep it

  • Your information is stored in our Wix account. Access is protected by a password and two-step verification, and is limited to people who need it.

  • We keep subscriber details until you unsubscribe. After that, we keep a minimal record so we don't email you again.

  • We keep order records for as long as tax and consumer laws require, usually up to 7 years.

  • When we no longer need information, we delete it or remove anything that identifies you.

  • If a data breach is likely to cause you serious harm, we will tell you and the OAIC, as the Notifiable Data Breaches scheme requires.

8. Accessing or correcting your information

You can ask to see the personal information we hold about you, or ask us to correct it. Email info@petparking.com.au.

  • We'll respond within 30 days.

  • We don't charge for this.

  • If we can't give you access, we'll explain why.

9. Complaints

If you think we've mishandled your personal information, please email info@petparking.com.au first. We'll reply within 30 days.

If you're not happy with our response, you can complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner (OAIC):

10. Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The "last updated" date at the top shows when it last changed. We'll let subscribers know by email if a change significantly affects how we use their information.
